Slice a whole pannetone. Toast it under a broiler (or in a toaster). Top with sweetened mascarpone and warm raspberry confiture.
Pannetone gets a bad rap but it’s really a delicious chewy, fruity bread/cake that’s great as a breakfast goodie or as we see here, a dessert. It’s a great treat for an impromptu party because it looks like it was a lot of trouble but it requires practically no preparation.
Serve with whipped cream flavored coffee with Italian syrups.
